Follow Wood on Wall home for an interview with Anela Tahirovic, also known as Arkihem on Instagram.
Who are you - Can you tell me a little about yourself?
My name is Anela Tahirovic and I have been working as an architect for almost 10 years. I live with my husband and our three boys in the house that we designed and built ourselves a few years ago. We feel fantastic here in the Skåne countryside. It is something very special to design a house and home for yourself and your family.
With my great interest in interior design and design, I have in recent years tried to inspire others to make wise choices through my Instagram account @arkihem, both in the process of planning and designing their house, and in the stage of decorating the home.
What were your thoughts when you designed the house?
We wanted to create a large common area where we could spend time with our children, friends and family. We invested a lot of square meters and put great care into the social areas where the kitchen, dining room and living room are woven together into one large room. We worked a lot with sight lines, daylight and contact with the outside and the beautiful landscape that surrounds the house.
What feeling are you looking for in your interior design?
I am very much influenced by the place I live in. The calm and nature out here is something I value highly and need to feel good. That's why I have worked with both color and materials inspired by nature to create a calm and cozy feeling at home, which at the same time feels timeless.
Acoustic panels are an integral part of your beautiful home. What draws you to acoustic panels?
We need a good sound environment to feel good. Our homes require us to work consciously with acoustics. That's why we have chosen to use acoustic panels in our home. In this way, we create that cozy feeling that we are looking for, while at the same time getting a better sound environment.
What do you see as the main advantage of Wood on Walls acoustic panels?
We were looking for good quality and something that was easy to install. We looked at many different models and finally chose acoustic panels from Wood on Wall. They offered the best quality we could find and at the same time a finished product that is easy to work with. They also care about the environment, among other things by the fact that the acoustic panels are handmade in Sweden and a tree is planted for every order. But most importantly, they contribute to better acoustics in the home.
What is your favorite room where you decorated with the panels?
It's almost impossible to choose one. We have worked with the acoustic panels deliberately, both as a decorative detail and to create a better sound environment in the home. We have worked with the panels in different ways in different rooms. In the bedroom we have acoustic panels on an entire wall behind the bed, in the hall in a niche by the wardrobes and in the dining room as cladding for our fireplace and built-in shelf. If I had to choose one, it would probably be the dining room and the fireplace that are top favorites.
